Ducks Unlimited names Top 100, President's Elite chapters
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - March 12, 2013 - Ducks Unlimited recently announced the 175 volunteer chapters across the nation being honored with Top 100 and President's Elite standings this year. The Top 100 designation is reserved for the top 100 chapters raising up to $100,000 in grassroots income for DU's conservation mission. Chapters raising more than $100,000 are recognized with the President's Elite award.

The East Cooper DU chapter, in partnership with the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition (SEWE), hosts an annual oyster roast and auction that is one of the largest and most successful DU fundraisers in the nation.

Comeback on the Coast - Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Chapter
Just as the oceans' tides ebb and flow, the life cycle of a Ducks Unlimited chapter often experiences ups and downs. This cycle has been especially notable in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, over the last few years, as decreased committee engagement and poor event timing led to falling attendance and support. The all-time low came in 2011, when just a handful of dedicated volunteers showed up for the chapter's sponsor banquet.

California DU Event Breaks Fundraising Record
The final results are still being tallied but Ducks Unlimited's 75th Anniversary event at the Blackhawk Auto Museum in Danville, California, has netted at least $1.5 million, which is great news for the DU's wetlands conservation programs in the state and across the continent. To date, DU has protected, enhanced, or restored more than 700,000 acres across California.

Hazard K. Campbell Tribute

DU volunteers are the organizational leaders who orchestrate more than 4,000 events nationwide. These volunteers and their events raise money for DU's mission, and they have an excellent time in the process.

DU volunteers host first banquet in Iraq
There are more than 4,500 DU events every year, but only one has been held in a combat zone. Pennsylvania Army National Guard soldiers hosted the first-ever banquet on Iraqi soil at Camp Taji, Iraq, on June 13, 2009.
