Great Plains Region

The Great Plains Region, headquartered in Bismarck, N.D., was established in 1984 to protect and restore wetlands and grasslands in the United States Great Plains. Today, the GPR carries out conservation programs in seven states that include some of the most important nesting and migration habitat on the continent.

Wetland Mitigation

Wetland Mitigation is wetland enhancement, restoration, creation and/or preservation project that serves to offset unavoidable wetland impacts. It may also be referred to as compensatory mitigation.

The Plains Carbon Dioxide Reduction Partnership

The PCOR Partnership is a collaborative effort of over 80 public and private stakeholders working toward a better understanding of the technical and economic feasibility of capturing and storing carbon dioxide emissions from the central interior of North America.

Ecological Goods and Services

The waterfowl habitats that Ducks Unlimited works to conserve provide mulitple benefits to society, including improved flood control, clean water, recreational opportunities, and climate regulation. As a whole, these benefits are often referred to as "ecological goods and services".

Ducks Unlimited's Carbon Sequestration Program

DU's Carbon Sequestration Program is designed to assist landowners with taking advantage of the expanding carbon market. This important work will provide income to landowners, contribute in the effort against global climate change, and help fulfill DU's conservation mission.
