DU CEO joins America's WETLAND Foundation Board of Directors

MEMPHIS, Tenn., June, 24, 2011 - In a recent announcement from America's WETLAND Foundation (AWF), H. Dale Hall, Ducks Unlimited CEO, was named to the AWF Board of Directors.  Hall will assist with the organization's decision making process as AWF works throughout Louisiana.

"Conserving Louisiana's coastal wetlands has been one of DU's priorities for years.  This region winters millions of waterfowl annually, and serves as a nursery for fish and wildlife throughout the Gulf of Mexico,” says Hall.  "I'm excited for this endeavor, and look forward to working with other members of the AWF board.”

America's WETLAND Foundation manages the largest, most comprehensive public education campaign in Louisiana's history, raising public awareness of the impact of Louisiana's wetland loss on the state, nation and world. The America's Energy Coast initiative works to sustain the environmental and economic assets of the Gulf Coast region.
R. King Milling, AWF chairman, says that Hall brings "vast conservation knowledge and experience to the Foundation and has been an outstanding contributor to the coastal restoration movement, both as a federal official and most recently as head of Ducks Unlimited. He has worked with our America's Energy Coast initiative since its inception, serving on the advisory committee. We are delighted he has agreed to serve on our board of directors and look forward to his guidance on this issue and many others.”

Ducks Unlimited is the world's largest nonprofit organization dedicated to conserving North America's continually disappearing waterfowl habitats. Established in 1937, Ducks Unlimited has conserved more than 12 million acres thanks to contributions from more than a million supporters across the continent. Guided by science and dedicated to program efficiency, DU works toward the vision of wetlands sufficient to fill the skies with waterfowl today, tomorrow and forever.
