One of the best ways to ensure that the mission of Ducks Unlimited continues in your lifetime and beyond is to give to Ducks Unlimited’s endowment. As one of the nine initiatives included in the $1.7 billion Ducks Unlimited Wetlands for Tomorrow campaign, the Endowment Initiative may be one of the most important avenues for ensuring that DU is able to restore and conserve North America’s wetland resources for future generations of waterfowl hunters and outdoor enthusiasts.
One such gift recently came through the estate of C. A. “Neil” Craig II of Nashville, Tenn. Neil was a DU member for more than 40 years and a committed volunteer for over two decades. During his lifetime, Neil was an active outdoorsman, businessman, and philanthropist. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and training hunt dogs. Neil’s final gift of $100,000 will be invested in the endowment to ensure a sustained base of support essential to the success of our conservation mission. Gifts to the endowment never go away; they just keep on giving year after year. Supporters like Neil are truly leaving a legacy of conservation to future generations.
Ducks Unlimited is pleased to recognize gifts to the Endowment Initiative from the estates of: Dwight Rodes Chamberlain; William and Maire Cheney; Leo E. Corr; Samuel C. DeLulio; Mark C. Leachman, Sr.; Linda Lunning; Charles and Rosemary Meyer; Norman Paus; M. M. “Bud” Peterson; Bernal R. Phipps; James “Jim” D. Range; Robert Michael Reese; Catherine G. “Sis” Reilly; Gordon Thomas Runciman; Howard T. Slaght; Michael Sparks; Charles T. Stone, Jr.; Eleanor Mae Stuard; and Cye G. Vaughan.
Ducks Unlimited is also pleased to recognize endowment gifts from the Dr. Edward D. and Sally M. Futch Charitable Foundation, the Clyde R. Potter, M.D. Charitable Foundation, and the Charles B. & Lois B. Macauley Trust.
While Ducks Unlimited welcomes outright gifts to the endowment, most endowment gifts come from members and supporters who have generously included DU in their estate plans.
