If each committee will take a little time before their events, and contact the schools in their area to see if they will allow a copy of the Puddler in to the school library for the elementary schools as well as taking a copy of the DU magazine into the Middle Schools and High Schools.

Visit The Schools
Each DU Chapter Representative needs to talk to the librarian. Tell her/him that we are going to have a banquet and ask the librarian if we can get this magazine underwritten by someone in the crowd, which in turn would they allow this magazine into their school. This would give every child an opportunity to check out this great Conservation magazine. The committee member needs to highlight the fact that there would be no cost to the school just the acceptance of the magazine into the library.

Before Your Event
If the committee doesn't do this before their banquet, or if you have already had your banquet for 2004, still take the time to visit the schools and get their approval for the magazine. Then the night of the event have a list of all the schools ready to go and don't forget the public library.

At Your Event
At the event have someone that is good on the microphone and has some enthusiasm to announce to the crowd that they would like to invite some one in the crowd to underwrite the Puddler magazine for the school library. It is only $ 10.00 for the Puddler and it is only $ 10.00 for the adult magazine (Middle or High Schools.) At this time have someone write down either the name or bid number of the person that is willing to underwrite that magazine and the name of the school they would like to send a copy to. The person at the time of settling up at the cashier will just add $10 to their total moneys spent that night.

Getting The Puddler
The Committee then has to ask the schools librarians for permission to put the magazine into the library ( if they haven't done this yet) and to finish, put the Full Name of School (including the words-elementary, middle, jr. high, or high,) "Attention: Librarian," School Mailing Address (some schools have a street address, but receive their mail at a P.O. Box,) City, State, Zip, A phone number would be nice as well, and $10.00 in the amount column on the membership roster.
