First, Ainsley Beeman joins DU staff, volunteers and partners to band ducks.

"Were here in southwest Montana, and were at an event called Band a Duck Catch a Trout," said DU Director of Development Chris Hildebrandt. "Were actually letting our donors get hands-on experience with some of the research behind our mission. We also get out for some fly fishing."

Then Field Hudnall hunts ducks and sharp-tailed grouse in northeastern Montana with ranching families working with DU to protect their land through conservation easements.

"The short time I was in Montana, I fell in love with it," said Field. "Theres so much to dotheres fly fishing, theres upland hunting, theres big-game hunting, theres waterfowl hunting. Its definitely someplace youve got to visit at some point in your life. But be careful, because theres a good chance you might fall in love with it, and you just might move there."

Also on DU TV this week: Ducks Unlimited CEO Dale Hall discusses some of the habitat challenges facing North America's pintail populations. Ducks Unlimited magazine Shotgunning Columnist Phil Bourjaily explains why a smooth and steady shotgun mount is a key to shooting success. And retriever trainer Mike Stewart explains how to train your dog to hunt an area for a downed bird.
