DU partnered with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to restore five acres of wetlands on a recently acquired tract along the Toussaint River. DU surveyed and designed the project and completed the restoration by breaking drain tiles and installing a new water control structure. Managers will now be able to hold and control water that typically floods the area in the spring, and pump when necessary in the fall. This project is the first phase of a much larger restoration effort planned for this property.
