Gun cleaning
Waterfowlers know well the difficulties of keeping a gun clean. Two helpful items are a ½-inch paintbrush and a can of compressed air (available at photography & computer stores). The paintbrush has longer bristles than a toothbrush and, when used in tandem with compressed air, allows you to remove debris from even the most difficult-to-reach areas.

Call to Action | Help Ensure Record Increase in Waterfowl Habitat Conservation
Ask your congressmen to support NAWCA funding
The president has recommended a record increase to the North American Wetlands Conservation Act (NAWCA)—one of the most successful waterfowl habitat conservation programs in history.
Members of Congress are now determining what the final funding level will be contact Congress now and make sure NAWCA is funded at the highest level possible in 2010.
Now in its 20th year, NAWCA has been responsible for more than 24 million acres of habitat across North America, and much of its success can be attributed to DU members and supporters writing an e-mail or calling their members of Congress to ask that they support NAWCA funding.

Revenue generated from duck stamp sales vital to wetlands, waterfowl conservation

I was once asked, "How far can you send a mallard with a duck stamp?" The answer: "Not as far as you used to."  That's because the price of the Federal Migratory Bird Conservation and Hunting Stamp, commonly referred to as the duck stamp, has not increased since 1991 ... And the costs of a gallon of milk, a box of corn flakes, and a loaf of bread have doubled during the same period. The buying power of duck stamp revenues has also not kept pace with the cost of wetland and upland acreage. While many other products have dramatically increased in price, the duck stamp has stagnated at $15.

| Ingredients |
- Duck or goose breasts, legs or thighs
- Pancake flour
- 1 clove of garlic
- Olive oil
- Cajun spice
- Black pepper
|
- Cream of mushroom soup
- Onion
- Teriyaki sauce
- Soy sauce
- Water
|
| Cooking Instructions |
- Marinate meat for several hours in 1:1 teriyaki-soy sauce mixture. Keep in cool area.
- Lightly flour meat. Brown floured meat in olive oil.
- Add Cajun spice and pepper to meat to taste.
- Place a layer of meat in the bottom of a slow cooker, followed by a layer of slice onion and a layer of cream of mushroom soup topped with finely chopped garlic. Repeat this sequence until all the meat is in the slow cooker.
- Add a cup of water and set the temperature control to Medium.
- Cook for at least six hours.
