"In today’s world of full-bodied and shell goose decoys, the inexpensive, yet effective, silhouette decoy has been somewhat forgotten. But these decoys make a very cost-effective way to increase your decoy spread. Just set your full-bodied dekes on the periphery of the spread and your silhouettes in the interior.
Another tip when using silhouette goose decoys is to place them facing in various directions. This will create an illusion of movement to geese passing overhead."

The ultimate resource for waterfowl hunters has arrived
Opening day is the pinnacle of excitement for waterfowl hunters. Our anxiety never subsides, from the moment the last shot is fired the previous season to the first shot on opening morning. The Opening Day Web site, First Flight, is designed to whet your opening day appetite and support waterfowl hunters throughout the season, providing in-depth articles, videos, hunting reports, blogs and more.
And, of course, back by popular demand is a new and improved version of the waterfowl migration map.

Youth Waterfowl Hunting Clinic Big Success
by GPRO Communications staff
The prairies echoed with exuberant calls last month, not from camo-clad men in the field but from the homes of about 40 children who participated in the Youth Waterfowl Hunting Clinic at Ducks Unlimited's Great Plains Regional Office. Duck calls were among the many goodies the waterfowler wannabes took home after the successful day of sessions geared toward sparking their interest in hunting.
Ducks Unlimited Joins "No Child Left Inside" Coalition
Ducks Unlimited has joined a coalition supporting the “No Child Left Inside” bill, which would improve outdoor and environmental education for school kids of all ages.
With kids today spending half as much time outside as their counterparts of 20 years ago, it is imperative that steps be taken to introduce and re-introduce the next generation to the joys of hunting, angling and spending time in nature.
