Getting your dog to retrieve geese
Training dogs to retrieve and carry a heavy goose can be difficult. To give your dog s ome practice, try using a weighted dummy. To do this, take a plastic dummy, slit the bottom, add sand or lead sinkers, and tape the bottom shut. As your dog becomes more comfortable carrying a heavy load, gradually increase the weight of the dummy until you're confident your dog can handle the heft of a goose. To permanently seal the dummy, use plastic cement that is available at most hardware stores.
