I am leaving DU and Tom Dwyer has been selected acting WRO Director

As some of you have heard, I have accepted a new position as Director of the Conservation Leadership Initiative and Research Professor of the River Systems Institute at Texas State University .  This is a project in which DU is a partner that will help waterfowl and wetlands conservation by training graduate students in waterfowl and wetlands conservation and developing the leadership potential of future conservation administrators – these are goals that DU and other conservation organizations, universities, and agencies have identified as critical needs for the future of waterfowl and wetlands conservation, including continuing the heritage and traditions associated with hunting.  I’ll be leaving for Texas at the end of June, but since I’ll be working in a partnership with DU, I’ll still be readily available should you need to reach me.  I’ll probably do one more issue of these notes before I leave, as I still have state reports for Arizona and Utah to complete by the end of the Fiscal Year, which I want to pass on to all of you.

DU has started a search for a new Director of the WRO.  In the interim period, Tom Dwyer, Director of the WRO’s Pacific Northwest operations, will begin serving as Acting Director for the WRO starting June 15th.
