KEARNEY, Dec. 10, 2008 - The U.S. Fish and Wildlife is helping Ducks Unlimited and others gather seed to restore prairie grasses in the Rainwater Basin. The USFW Rainwater Basin Wetland Management District staff last week worked with Rainwater Basin Joint Venture partners, including DU, to bag 13 thousand pounds of high-diversity native plant seed. DU uses the collected seed to restore native prairie on its properties. A photo ran in the Kearney Hub newspaper and a feature story is expected in the Saturday, December 13 issue.
