Chester Moore, Jr. to donate 20% of proceeds to DU’s habitat conservation
“Texas Waterfowl”, a book dedicated to the art of waterfowling in the Lone Star state, is set to be released this fall. Award winning author Chester Moore, Jr. has pledged 20% of his proceeds to DU’s conservation work in Texas (Texas CARE) and to the organization’s ever important work on the breeding grounds of the North Central US and Canada.
"I want to donate 20 percent of my part of the proceeds because I believe waterfowl conservation is of utmost importance and for me to think there might be a day when we would have no duck hunting is frightening. Habitat, especially healthy, well-managed habitat is extremely important and I believe what DU is doing is crucial", expressed Moore.
The announcement of this generous donation was made during the recent Texas DU State Convention in Galveston where Moore was a featured speaker during the Saturday morning business session. The announcement generated a standing ovation from the crowd and helped kick off the public phase of DU’s unprecedented Wetlands for Tomorrow campaign in Texas.
"It is very exciting to take my passion for waterfowl and put it into a book. I am in awe of the amazing artistry God put into ducks and geese and am in love with the challenge and fun of pursuing them," Moore said.
Upon its release, Texas waterfowlers can obtain their copy at www.fishgame.com as well as retailers like Gander Mountain and Academy. The book is being published by Texas Fish & Game publishing.
