Dr. Rex Schulz of Quincy has been elected to the Ducks Unlimited Board of Directors during the 2008 DU Convention in Baltimore. Schulz was elected by DU's council of state trustees and national delegates to serve as a regional vice president.
Prior to this appointment, Schulz served as the Illinois state chairman and has been an active volunteer on the local Quincy committee. Additionally, Schulz is a 2007 recipient of Ducks Unlimited's "Wings of Innovation" Award for his assistance designing and implementing a successful fundraising technique to compliment the organization's grassroots fundraising program.
A long-time resident of Quincy, Schulz is a pathologist at Blessing Hospital.
The board of directors position is a volunteer position that assists in the decision making process within the organization. The board consists of 60 DU members from the U.S. and Canada.
"These are some of our organization's strongest leaders," said Don Young, DU executive vice president. "We are the leader in wetland and waterfowl conservation, and we feel we have put the right people on our board to advance our efforts."
