DU's Fleshner Tract in Nebraska

A wetland in DU's newly acquired Fleshner tract in Nebraska has gone from bone dry to full with recent rains. Ducks Unlimited (DU) recently acquired the Flesner Tract, a 160-acre parcel located in Franklin County, also in the western portion of the Rainwater Basin.

DU will restore and protect this key parcel with vital Nebraska waterfowl habitat used by millions of waterfowl that migrate through the state each year.

The improvement of this property is part of DU’s Revolving Land Acquisition Strategy.DU will restore critical wetlands and adjacent uplands on this property over the next two to three years. Upon completion of the restoration work, conservation easements will be placed on this property and the tract will be sold to conservation buyers, replenishing DU’s Revolving Land Account and providing the capital to complete additional projects.
