Ducks Unlimited partnered with the Pittsfield Charter Township and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service - Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program to restore five wetland basins totaling 10 acres and 37 acres of warm season grass at the Pittsfield Township Preserve in Washtenaw County. Originally acquired in 2002 by the Pittsfield Township Park System, the 535-acre natural area is being restored from agricultural use back to wetlands, grasslands and woodlands. The habitat restored at this property will provide quality nesting and brood-rearing habitat for mallards and wood ducks and provide passive recreational opportunities for local residents
