The Saginaw Basin Land Conservancy, with ?nancial and technical assistance from Ducks Unlimited, The Nature Conservancy, Michigan Department of Natural Resources and a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service National Coastal Wetlands Conservation grant, purchased and permanently protected 140 acres along Saginaw Bay in Huron County. The property located on Sand Point and within the Wildfowl Bay State Wildlife Area contains a mix of Great Lakes coastal emergent and open water wetlands; lakeplain wet prairie, uplands and other habitats of signi?cant value to waterfowl, and many other species of ?sh and wildlife.
