I am pleased to announce that Mr. Mark Biddlecomb has been selected as the new Director of Ducks Unlimited’s Western Regional Office effective 1 August 2010.  Mark has served in progressively more responsible positions with DU since he began as a Regional Biologist with the WRO in 1995.  From 1995 to 2002 Mark was DU’s Director of Conservation for the Intermountain West.  From 2002 to the present Mark has been the Director for South Pacific Flyway operations.  In addition to his work over much of the WRO conservation effort, he has worked closely with partners, volunteers, and landowners on a wide variety of projects, Joint Venture Management Boards, and in other roles.

Prior to joining DU, Mark was a Resource Area Biologist with the U.S. Bureau of Land Management in Nevada (1992-1995) and he worked as a gold miner in Nevada from 1980-1985.  Mark holds a B.S. degree in Fish and Wildlife Management from Utah State University (1989 – Cum Laude) and a M.S. in Wildlife Management from the University of Alaska Fairbanks (1992).

We look forward to Mark’s leadership for our conservation programs in the Pacific Flyway with other departments, volunteers, donors, and partners of all kinds.  Please join me in welcoming Mark to his new role with Ducks Unlimited.

John Pope
President
