MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Oct. 31, 2012 – Ducks Unlimited has partnered with ConnectionPlus™, a division of Dynastar Holdings Inc. to make it easier for DU members to shop online and help conserve, restore and manage wetlands and associated habitats for North America's waterfowl—all at the same time. To support the new fundraising effort, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, a longtime DU member and life sponsor, stopped by DU's Memphis headquarters on Tuesday, Oct. 30, to film several promotional videos for this new partnership.
Once DU members download the ConnectionPlus toolbar and begin shopping on a participating retailer's website, Ducks Unlimited will receive approximately 1-5 percent of the price for every purchase made, even though the purchase price will not increase. As a bonus, DU members will receive special offers available only to ConnectionPlus shoppers.
"It's truly amazing to find a free, safe and easy way to financially support Ducks Unlimited through your eligible online purchases," Huckabee said. "Whether you're shopping through the ConnectionPlus toolbar or mall, a percentage of your eligible online purchases from more than 850 well-known retailers will be contributed to Ducks Unlimited. It's an effective partnership for conservation that I can support."
Huckabee's interest in hunting and fishing, and his support of conservation, are well known. He was named one of the 25 Most Influential People for Conservation by Outdoor Life magazine, and was named Man of the Year by the American Sportfishing Association in 1997.
Details on, and access to, the new partnership will be available online soon at www.ducks.org. The new program is scheduled to go live in late November 2012, just in time for after-Thanksgiving shopping.
