I am a new DU member and a junior duck hunter.  Last year i introduced my 8 YR old son to duck hunting and he is also hooked ( I have already began teaching my 20 month old son how to blow a duck call).  Anyhow, we bought a two man canoe and plan on using it as a blind.  He really focuses while hunting so he doesn't fidgit too much.  Momma saw the stability of the kayak in the water and is worried, so i told her I would stabilize it.  I am a product of a backwoods engineering upbringing so I am confident that i can make a stabilizing system, i am just curious if the more seasoned kayak hunters have any recommendations.

Ps when i say that my son is hooked I mean it, when i bought hiim his waders he never wanted to take them off, momma wouldnt let him wear them to school LOL.

if your looking for something quick, stores like Cabelas or Bass proshop have outriggers to attach for stability

I have a few good ideas. I just have to take some measurements with us sitting in the boat.  Basically I plan on making depth adjustable pontoons out of SCH 40 or 60 and simply cap off the ends.  the measurements determine how and where I mount it to the boat.  I am also going to try to integrate gun transport mount, and a place for the paddles once we set out the spread.  should be easy enough right?
