Whatever you decide you want boundaries/rules to be, remember this be CONSISTENT and FAIR.

Consistent in following your rules and enforcement of them.  Praise goes a long ways.

Fair in not expecting a rule/behavior to be learned from one learning session.  It's takes time to learn a behavior.  Fair in what lead up to each situation (ie - junior thinks its cool to feed the dog from the table and the next thing is table surfing - see consistet above).  Fair in how you handle each situation.

Do let your dog out on a regular basis.

Do give some praise when he/she goes outside.

Do not rub they're nose in it if they go inside.
