Me and my cus are going to plant a small field and were wondering what would be the best and easiest thing to plant for ducks and geese. We dont have a lot of equipment. And were wanting to flood a small part of it. Any suggestions?

soil test would be good for starters... if u cant thats ok to some times if the acidity isnt to high, then will u flood ?? more details will help, deciding want be hard if it doesnt have standing water

is the soil hydric (will it hold water)

how deep can you flood it......inches, feet

how many square feet of flooded vs. overall.......or are you thinking of growing something and then flooding the crop.

testing the soil is a very good idea and easy to do, especially if you want to plant corn.

how will you flood it.

we planned on just growing something then flooding a small part of it like an acre or less and it would only be 1' and less..... and we could just pump water from a pond nearby

will the soil hold that water?

if so, sounds like it will be a killer spot.

millet is easy and reliable both in growing well and bringing in the ducks.  corn is a little more work and the soil needs to be prepped for it.  ie: proper fertilization.
