Hey everyone,

so this is my first season duck hunting really seriously. Ive had a really good year (including my  first banded bird) up until about a week ago when a huge cold snap  came through. We've been hunting the only open water available to us at this point and last week the birds just started refusing to cup up. ive done everything I can think of to make them confident includeing calling less only using my best decoys and such but they just haven't wanted to commit. Just wanted to see if anyone had any tips for the shy birds, and the extreme cold weather.

Could be a few things-----but the most obvious is that you are not where the ducks want to be.
Especially in real cold weather, they have in their mind certain spots where they can get enough food & shelter.
