By fracture535 - 11/5/2009 8:17:31 PM
they suck..except for the whistle cause a whistle is pretty uniform
By cwiowa09 - 11/5/2009 8:49:36 PM
ya i don't like them very much i got the pro legacy its a good timber call but im partial to the buck gardner spitfire. Depends on where u hunt really the pro is a double reed not too sure bout others.

Last week we used a few different calls , but the duck comander calls brought the ducks in and we limited out . My son shot his first duck a red head that came in with a pair of mallards, I think That I was more excited than him. We shot mallards, gadwalls, redheads, and buffleheads that day.It was alot of fun!we used the cutdown and the classic.

I liked my DC Classic Commander. Unfortunately though, it's no longer with me as it fell apart while somewhere in the field.

just bought the Sarge and have an older original. The Sarge sounds great and can't wait until this weekend to use it. My understanding is that most are double reed calls. My experience with them is they sound very much like a duck and are easy to use. I prefer to be light on calling because I hunt mostly public marshes and it seems to work really well to have a call that is very realistic. I would recommend trying one out.

I think that they have very good calls....I have the Duck Picker, Ol Raspy, and the woody whistle.  If you are hunting in close areas then the Ol Raspy is good b/c its very basic and can be very soft but the Duck Picker allows you to get on it a little harder and put some pressure on it to make it nice and loud.
By myrealname - 11/6/2009 10:51:02 AM
they do not suck. all great calls for hunting. use the picker, woodie, and gadwall.
By DUmills26 - 11/6/2009 11:22:10 AM
Ol' Raspy is the best duck call i have blow besides the quackhead sure those real expensive calls are nice but for the price you cant beat these calls
By burnettjv - 11/6/2009 11:43:52 AM
I really like the DC calls.  I have a Classic Commander, Ole Raspy and a Brown Sugar.  The Ole Raspy is probably my favorite.  They seem to be very realistic and you cant beat the price!

i like the duck picker & the classic

I now use only DC calls.  I always have the Brown Sugar, Duck Picker, Gadwall, Teal, and Woodie calls with me.  I use the Duck Picker for the majority of mallard work and use th Brown Sugar for close in stuff in the timber.
By CurtisJM - 11/11/2009 12:28:00 PM
Got the majority of them and some are good and some are great and i have yet to find one that sucks, i did have a problem with the pickler though the reed was bent when i bought it but they sent me a new one, no questions, no charge.

Legacy-$50 touchy and when it gets moist it pops

Willies Camo Max-$30 all round good call

Six Shooter-$30 easy

Green Mile -$30 needs alot of air

Pickler-$30 loud as hell

Cut Down-$20 perfect for beginners

Classic-$15 another great for beginners

Widgeon, Pintail Whistle-$10 its a whistle

Teal-$20 sounds great easy to use

Ole Raspy-$20 rough true to its name

Gadwall-$20 no other call like it

Commander in Chief..nuff said.

Ole Raspy or a Mule. Good Sound out of both easy to blow especially the Ole Raspy.
By swampman90 - 11/11/2009 4:56:52 PM
My experience with DC calls have been nothing but positive. I have the legacy, willie's max, and the woodie call. The legacy can get a little touchy when i use it heavy and get it moist but willie's max is great. I've recommended them to a lot of my buddies who want a good call that wont put a dent in their pocket and they were all very pleased.
By Moose123 - 11/11/2009 6:36:45 PM
I have the duck picker and the mule. I really like the picker
By dranefotie2 - 11/14/2009 12:59:06 AM
to those that said dc calls suck you must not know how to work some ducks cause i've had guys all around me and the duck picker pulls em in every time...dc calls do not suck, in fact they seem to work better than any other calls out there and are relatively cheap compared to the 150$ foiles or other calls and i guarantee they'll call in just as many if not more than any of the high priced calls will...just cause a call is 100$ plus doesn't mean its any better than a 20$ call...remember its the caller not the call...

where the hell have you been...

and to enforce what he says and I agree with the best duck call period is:

where the hell have you been

i've been moving the past 3 weeks...the internet and my mail have been nightmares...finally got the internet wednesday and now it seems my mail is working just fine...although the postman only stops by my mailbox about once a week it seems...glad to be back on

By etsanger - 11/14/2009 9:38:27 PM
the duck commander ol' raspy was my first call. It's not bad for the price. It sounds good enough but may not be as versatile as some of the other more expensive calls.
By jcz - 11/14/2009 9:52:45 PM
Look out Jason Im about to knock atleast one of those duckcommander calls off of your lanyard. I got 2 calls headed your way that are freakin awesome!!! Glad to see you got the kinks worked out around the new house, now go use that goose call I sent ya!
By SCpuddleking - 11/14/2009 11:26:27 PM
DC Classic Commander was the first call I ever had. It is so simple... highly recommend it for beginners. I still hang it on my lanyard, although I don't use it much anymore. BUT if the ducks want something quiet that day... the DC CC is the quietest call I've found.
By whiteshoes - 11/18/2009 2:18:07 PM
ol raspy up close or in timber are ok
By TooTall - 7/4/2010 8:08:45 AM
I have the camo max call, it is a double reed call, I love it. It is a great call for finishing birds off, it doesn't get really loud but the birds really work to a feed call through it. As for those who say they "suck",  they do not at all sound like championship calls. DC calls are much more of a real sounding call and are meant to make the ducks respond not judges.
By meterman3 - 7/8/2010 10:20:30 PM
Yep go two the work great a trick was told to me use chap stick on the board

and they wont stick

By Superblack - 7/12/2010 6:43:34 PM
yeah all those expensive calls might be nice and clear and sound really good, but they do not sound like ducks. DC calls actually sound like ducks i have a classic commander that ive had for years and i cant find another one that sounds the same they are all great calls and are fairly easy to blow quiet. They are field calls that you can take to battle and will have results with.
By Weapon X - 7/16/2010 2:10:45 PM
I have the new 72 series calls in Blackwood and chartreuse acrylic, great sounding calls plus i was born in 72 so i thought that was a cool coincidence.
By Texas-Kayak-Qwack-Smacker - 7/16/2010 7:04:54 PM
I called a bunch of em into the gumbo pot with the original back before I switched to a Zink PH2. I didn't switch because of a problem with the call. It just got old and i'd heard good things about the Zink.

By swampwalker - 7/27/2010 9:44:30 PM
i have the woody call and i think that it is the best one that i've ever used
By gsuduckhunter - 7/27/2010 9:58:49 PM
the wood duck call is the definitely the most realistic wood duck call that I have found, you will not find a better one i promise
By lasportsman - 7/27/2010 11:13:53 PM
I agree the woody call is the best. I tried Haydel's, although good, it doesn't compare. The Duck Commander one kept them coming all day. My hunting buddy and myself have pretty much switched to only Duck Commander calls. They are inexpensive and easy to use and even better they can call some ducks.
By JoshMS - 7/28/2010 5:57:00 PM
I have a lanyard full of them.

Duck Picker, Camo Max, Teal, Woodie, Gadwall, Mallard Drake, Ole Raspy, The Mule, and The Cutdown.
