MEMPHIS, Tenn. – March 17, 2014 –With the winter weather at bay and warmer temperatures looming, it’s only fitting that summertime parties and cookouts are on everyone's mind. Just because duck season is over, however, doesn't mean your support of Ducks Unlimited (DU) has to stop. One way to continue your patronage is through our newest partner, K2 Coolers.
The newest company to join DU's Corporate Partner Program, K2 will offer a co-branded DU cooler available at retail outlets across the country. Founded in 2011, K2 set out to design a durable, lightweight cooler that would provide maximum ice retention without breaking your back or your bank account.
"We are proud to have K2 Coolers on board as one of our newest corporate partners," said Jeremy Smith, DU’s director of corporate relations. "K2 products have been a great asset in DU's Preferred Vendor Program and helped us raise a significant amount of grassroots money for our mission. We're excited to see K2’s commitment to wetlands conservation taken to the next level."
As longtime DU volunteers on the state and local level, K2's co-founders, Burton Angelle and Jim Angers, are keenly aware of the work that DU does to help preserve wetlands and waterfowl populations.
"It's an honor to be able to affiliate ourselves with an organization that has a mission that so closely mirrors our own passion." Angers said.
K2 Coolers are currently available through 800 independent sporting goods dealers in the United States. Their Summit Series offers a wide range of sizes from a 20-quart with a padded shoulder strap to the enormous 120-quart model. The DU-edition cooler will be available in early summer and will come in an exclusive color. The DU coolers will be offered in K2's new 30-quart size as well as their most popular 50-quart model.
