Duck banding by the two crews DU/CF crews in North Dakota terminated on September 19. It was a good year for both crews. The Crosby crew banded 5,011 ducks including 3,061 blue-winged teal, 606 pintails, 532 gadwall and 341 mallards. The crew at Lake Ilo NWR banded 1,750 ducks including 1,026 mallards and 589 blue-winged teal.
Alan Leach and Andy Dinges banded at Crosby and Marie Kalamaras and Caroline Brady banded at Lake Ilo NWR. They all worked hard in the heat and cold, sun and rain slogging through the mud every day from 3 August until 19 September. I thank them for their dedication, hard work and diligence to keeping accurate banding data details everyday of the banding season.
