Ralph McDonald's Winning Print: “Got’em Dad”
“DU has featured a wildlife artist since 1972, but this year's balloting is its first attempt at inviting everyone to help with the selection,” said Larry Richardson, national director of field fundraising initiations for Ducks Unlimited. “McDonald is a perennial favorite of DU art buyers and we are excited about working with him to promote this print.”
For more than a decade, Ralph McDonald’s Greenwing prints have been a favorite at DU events, raising more than $12 million for conservation. McDonald lives in Gallatin, Tenn. producing art prints for DU since 1974. He was also Ducks Unlimited International Artist of the Year in 1981.
With more than a million supporters, Ducks Unlimited is the world’s largest and most effective wetland and waterfowl conservation organization. The United States alone has lost more than half of its original wetlands − nature’s most productive ecosystem − and continues to lose more than 100,000 wetland acres each year.
