Partnership over following Wisconsin event
MEMPHIS, Tenn., August 27, 2007 – The Ducks Unlimited and InterMedia Outdoors, Inc. partnership with the Great Outdoors Festival is over. The partnership officially ended at the close of the Ninth Annual Ducks Unlimited Great Outdoors Festival in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on August 26, 2007.
Ducks Unlimited and Petersen Publishing (InterMedia’s predecessor) pioneered the original partnership. The first festival was in Memphis, Tennessee in 1994. In all, 21 festivals were produced in 14 years. The sites included Oshkosh, Wisconsin; Richmond, Virginia, as well as Memphis, Tennessee.
“InterMedia has always been a strong partner in planning and delivering the Ducks Unlimited Great Outdoors Festivals across the country. We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished,” said DU Executive Vice President Don Young. “DU is committed to the hunting and outdoors market place. We’re looking for ways to involve our supporters and festival volunteers in other activities, especially grassroots fund-raising.”

Paro says InterMedia Outdoors is committed to on-the-ground events like the Great Outdoors Festival and will announce plans for the future shortly.
