Little Rock, Ark., June 14, 2007 – At its Annual Convention in Anchorage, Alaska, Ducks Unlimited – the world’s largest wetlands and waterfowl conservation group - elected George Dunklin Jr., to serve as Senior Vice President of Conservation Programs. Dunklin, an Arkansas County farmer, also serves on the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission’s Board of Commissioners.

George Dunklin, Jr., was elected as Ducks Unlimited’s Senior Vice President of Conservation Programs.
"I've been a member of Ducks Unlimited for years. All my kids are Legacy Greenwing members, and it's such an honor to serve on DU's Board of Directors,” said Dunklin. “I'm looking forward to working in this new capacity with DU’s staff and volunteers to help conserve waterfowl habitats for future generations."

Dunklin has been a member of Ducks Unlimited for 30 years, is a Major Sponsor of the organization and a member of the President’s Council. Dunklin previously served on DU’s Growth and Innovation committee and the Conservation Programs Committee.

As Senior Vice President of Conservation Programs, Dunklin will provide advice and direction to DU’s President and the Board on all conservation related matters. By virtue of this position, he will also serve on Ducks Unlimited Canada’s board of directors, and as a trustee for DU’s Wetlands America Trust.

“George Dunklin is the classic conservationist. He is passionate about Ducks Unlimited and our mission, and he’s very knowledgeable about the science behind our work,” explained Bruce Lewis, president of Ducks Unlimited. “Not only is he dedicated to current conservation issues, he’s looking out for our future as well. George is deeply involved with the Arkansas Greenwing program and camp, which he hosts at his Five Oaks duck lodge each winter.”

Dunklin has been a member of the Arkansas Rice Research & Promotion Board, manages several family-owned companies and operates the Five Oaks Duck Lodge near DeWitt.

With more than a million supporters, Ducks Unlimited is the world’s largest and most effective wetland and waterfowl conservation organization with almost 12 million acres conserved. The United States alone has lost more than half of its original wetlands - nature’s most productive ecosystem - and continues to lose more than 80,000 wetland acres each year.
