Ducks Unlimited and United Country Real Estate collaborate for conservation

MEMPHIS, Tenn., July 26, 2007 – In a unique partnership focused on conservation, Ducks Unlimited announced today that United Country Real Estate is joining DU’s ranks as a proud sponsor.

“United Country has the rural roots, outdoor culture and attitude that make it a great DU partner,” said Don Young, DU’s executive vice president. “It has the capacity and interest to get involved with DU locally, help raise funds for conservation and assist in promoting the value of conservation easements.”

Ducks Unlimited selected United Country Real Estate as a new partner because of its 80 year history of successfully specializing in rural real estate, including ranches, farms and recreational property, its national footprint with more than 650 offices and growing, and its wide range of services for property buyers and sellers.

“Ducks Unlimited recognized that conservation and land stewardship is a core company value for United Country, and that is right in line with Ducks Unlimited’s efforts to conserve vital wetlands and habitats throughout North America,” said Young.

Through this new partnership, Ducks Unlimited and United Country Real Estate will collaborate to educate United Country associates, land buyers and sellers about land conservation, habitat protection through conservation easements, opportunities to volunteer and charitable giving opportunities. For example, Ducks Unlimited is featured in listing catalogs produced by United Country and distributed to more than one million United Country customers. United Country is an advertiser in Ducks Unlimited magazine and on the DU Web site, www.ducks.org.

United Country Real Estate is a national franchise system that helps buyers across America find their dream homes and properties.  From fishing and hunting retreats to recreational cabins, waterfront properties, farms for sale and more, United Country Real Estate specializes in marketing realistically priced real estate in rural America.

“United Country Real Estate is in a singularly unique position to promote responsible and long-range land stewardship issues across the United States.  We view our commitment to Ducks Unlimited as a cornerstone of our efforts to educate land owners, those seeking to own recreational property and those real estate professionals that serve them about the importance of active participation in the conservation of our collective heritage for the next generation of sportsmen and women,” said Dan Duffy, chief executive officer, United Country Real Estate.  “The true measure of how well we do will be born by our grandchildren and their children.  More can be done.  We are truly excited about being part of the important work that Ducks Unlimited is doing every day across the country and around the world.”

With more than a million supporters, Ducks Unlimited is the world’s largest and most effective wetland and waterfowl conservation organization with almost 12 million acres conserved. The United States alone has lost more than half of its original wetlands - nature’s most productive ecosystem - and continues to lose more than 80,000 wetland acres each year.

United Country Real Estate is the only national franchise system specializing in country real estate throughout the small cities, towns and surrounding communities across America.  With a heritage dating back to 1925, we are the partner of choice for buyers, sellers and real estate brokers of country property.  United Country’s marketing systems which include web sites and nine specialty magazines that reach well over ten million people a year result in approximately $3.0 billion in transaction volume on an annual basis system wide.  For more information on United Country Real Estate or to view tens of thousands of properties for sale across America, log on to www.unitedcountry.com.
