MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE - The world duck calling competition held in Stuttgart, Arkansas is right around the corner and one of the last opportunities to qualify will be on Sat. Oct. 3, 2009 at Ducks Unlimited National headquarters in Memphis, Tenn. The event, sponsored by Avery Outdoors and sanctioned by the Stuttgart Chamber of Commerce will have Junior, Novice, Team and the sanctioned World Qualifying competition.

"We've got a big day planned here at DU National Headquarters," said John Hoffman, event organizer. "Last year we had more than 30 callers in the sanctioned event and everyone really enjoyed the competition. This year we plan on having a prominent list of judges and we would like to see more callers compete to win some of the great prizes."

There are DU Gamo air rifles for the junior competition winners and Benelli Super Nova 12 gauge shotguns for the two-man and the sanctioned-individual competition winner. Avery Outdoors waterfowl hunting gear will also be distributed to top finishers as well. The winner of the sanctioned-individual contest will qualify for the World Duck Calling Championship this year in Stuttgart, Ark.

Early bird registration for the event must be received by Sept. 22. To receive an application, call John Hoffman 901.758.3864 or email jhoffman@ducks.org for more information.

Or visit www.duck.org/callingcontest to download the application.
