GRAND ISLAND, Neb., March 9, 2011 – Ducks Unlimited will auction its Hultquist Property in Kearney County, Nebraska during the Nebraska DU state convention on Saturday, March 19 at 5:00 pm. This is the first revolving habitat program property in Nebraska to be sold this way to coincide with a DU state convention. The auction is open to the public and anyone can participate in the land auction, whether or not they are participating in the state convention activities.

The property is 157 acres that includes wetlands and restored native grassland and it is protected by a conservation easement. Additionally, the property is equipped with two wells for wetland management and has a perimeter fence to allow grazing. A thorough overview and maps of the property are included in the executive summary

The convention will be at the Quality Inn and Conference Center at the corner of Highway 281 and Interstate 80 in Grand Island. See the Nebraska state page of the DU website for more information on the convention. More information about the land auction is located on the Ruhter's Auction web site under “Kearney County Waterfowl and Upland Hunting Habitat.”
