(Paris, TN) When Andy Davis, president of
Knox Outdoor Products (KOP) offered a Hoot® Extreme Terrain Vehicle™ as an incentive for Tennessee State Ducks Unlimited (DU) sponsors, the first unit was not yet off the assembly line. Today the six-wheel drive, amphibious Hoot® is shipped to retailers across the U.S. and Canada, and one of its newest fans is Doug Muench, the lucky winner.

The drawing was held at the Tennessee DU State Convention on June 9.Like many DU members, Muench of Paris, TN purchased a $265 sponsorship, hoping to win a Hoot® ETV™. His winning ticket was drawn during the Tennessee State Ducks Unlimited Convention at Paris Landing State Park in June.
“I was thrilled when they drew my name,” said Muench. “I’ve wanted a Hoot since I first heard about them. Everything I’ve seen or read about this machine has piqued my interest. Purchasing a DU sponsorship really does pay off. Now I’ll have one before the season opens. If anyone wants to ride, they can visit me at the blind.”
When Davis offered the Hoot as an incentive for sponsorship sales, his intentions were three-fold. “Of course, I wanted exposure for this new product,” he confessed, “but my main intention was to spice things up and get folks excited about purchasing sponsorships. I also wanted KOP to model how others could help DU by simply offering an item or service,” he explained. “There are lots of folks out there who guide or teach in the outdoors, manufacture outdoor products or are associated with any number of other opportunities. Just think what could happen to our DU coffers if everyone purchased just one more sponsorship or recruited just one more member.”
“We are grateful to Knox Outdoor Products for this terrific incentive,” said Dennis Schaedle, Tennessee DU State Chairman. “Andy Davis knows how to get the attention of duck hunters. By using the Hoot ETV as an incentive we were able to sell more sponsorships, which translates to dollars that can be used for DU’s mission, waterfowl habitat conservation.”
