Four Ducks Unlimited chapters in Arkansas were honored at the 2009 Ducks Unlimited national convention held in Denver, CO, May 23 - 23, 2009.
The Benton County Chapter (Bentonville) was recognized for ranking in the President's Top 100 Club as one of the top 100 Ducks Unlimited chapters in the United States for the 2008 calendar year. The chapter has ranked in the top 100 every year since the award's inception in 2004. New to the President's Top 100 for 2008 is the Union County Chapter (El Dorado). Both chapters qualify for special limited edition items for their fund-raising events this fall.
Also honored from the state were four chapters receiving the Presidential Citation Award for 2008. The Presidential Citation is awarded to chapters that achieve increases in their membership and fund raising goals for the calendar year. Receiving their second Gold citation was the Marion Chapter, for meeting the requirements four years in a row. Marion was one of only ten chapters in the USA to receive the special gold recognition and one of only three to receive the Gold recognition two years in a row. The Union County Chapter also recieved the Gold citation recognizing their third consecutive year to qualify for the Presidential Citation.
First time recipients of the Bronze Presidential Citation Award from Arkansas were the Benton County Chapter and the Hurricane Lake Chapter in Searcy. Only 142 chapters in the USA qualified for the Bronze citation.
