2009 GREENWING EVENT TO HOST
2
ND ANNUAL DECOY CARVING CONTEST

On April 18, 2009 we will continue the duck carving contest for the second year for Greenwings to participate in at Owens Station in Greenwood, Delaware. This is a working bird decoy competition .The Greenwing Event has been a highly successful day of outdoor fun and wetlands conservation directed at educating the children that are the future of preserving and protecting the natural resources not only here in Delaware but the North American Continent. With great hope, this competition will add to the fun and excitement of the day.

I would encourage every carver here in Delaware to teach and assist at least one child to carve a working decoy for this contest. With the participation of our local carvers, the children will experience the thrill of seeing their decoy take shape and they will be very proud of their finished decoy. We can all imagine the thrill of a child seeing a ribbon on their decoy. That child will remember that feeling forever. I would ask that any carver that is involved in working with a child or wishes to be involved in this event to call me directly at 302.429.2727, or contact me via e mail at Louis.Caputo@pnc.com.

CONTEST DETAILS

A panel of 3 experienced carvers will judge all decoys. The decision of this panel will be final on all entries.

I know we will get the support of the carving community as well as a host of others to make this new addition to the Greenwing Day a success for the children. Don’t forget to come out on April 18

th to see all of the decoys on display.

The children will appreciate it!!!!
