Mr. Hall and Mr. Tiéga will sign a Memorandum of Cooperation in honor of World Wetlands Day. The Secretary will also recognize Ducks Unlimited's 75th anniversary.

Feb. 2 is World Wetlands Day, marks the end of the 40th anniversary year of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands and kicks off Ducks Unlimited's 75th anniversary celebration. Ducks Unlimited's mission is to "conserve, restore and manage wetlands and associated habitats" in North America echoes the Ramsar Convention's "40 years of caring for wetlands."
Ducks Unlimited is the world's leader in wetlands and waterfowl conservation, having conserved more than 12 million acres of wetlands and wildlife habitats in North America with the help of more than 1 million supporters.
The Ramsar Convention on Wetlands is an intergovernmental treaty that provides the framework for national action and international cooperation for the conservation and wise use of wetlands and their resources. The treaty has been signed by 160 countries, including the United States, with nearly 43 million acres on 2,000 Ramsar sites designated as wetlands of international importance.
Together, Ducks Unlimited and the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands work to stem the loss of wetlands and contribute to the conservation of nearly 440 million acres of wetlands worldwide.
