Join KSDU members from across the state at the ’07 State Convention in Hutchinson
Hutchinson invites you to “Come Share Our Space’ as Kansas Ducks Unlimited shares in a celebration of achievements of the past year and shares plans for the coming event season. The annual state convention will be held July 13-15, 2007 at the Grand Prairie Hotel and Convention Center, 1400 North Lorraine St, in Hutchinson. This great hotel features a fantastic Water Park and also offers Family Suites with Kids Rooms! Make plans NOW to join us for conversation, education, recreation and relaxation.
The convention will officially ‘take flight’ with a special training session for new Area Chairman beginning at 3:00 Friday afternoon. Tips, techniques, and ‘tried and true’ experiences will be shared. All new Area Chairmen are encouraged to attend this informational training.
Friday evening gather with old friends and new ones to share a buffet dinner. The evening will wind down at the hospitality suite, featuring raffles, drawings and the second annual Minnow Races.
On Saturday morning, we’ll flock together for a continental breakfast and DU workshops conducted by our State Chairman Bob Saathoff. He’s ‘called in’ several speakers from across the nation to enlighten and educate us on where KS DU has been and where we are going. They’ll talk about raising the dollars and spending the dollars. Your part in the plan will be explained. Continue the camaraderie over lunch.
Saturday afternoon, be a part of a once in a lifetime experience as the McPherson Wetlands project is officially dedicated. This is the first project completed in the NAWMP. More details will follow.
Saturday evening will feature hors’ d oeuvres with a cash bar and more raffles than you can imagine. Bid on the silent auction items as you enjoy the company of your new friends. Then we’ll ‘migrate’ to the awards banquet and auction. Awards will be presented by State Chairman Bob Saathoff. Since this is DU, there will of course be a live auction. This will feature several unique items created especially for the convention. The evening will conclude with more merriment in the hospitality suite.
Sunday morning the State Council will roll up their sleeves and plan for the upcoming year.
Plan on sharing a weekend with other Ducks Unlimited members from across the state.
Learn, laugh, relax, win, and celebrate with the best folks you’ll ever want to meet.
