Indoor activities in fairgrounds building, Participatory activities such as wildlife jeopardy, critter scene investigations, fish printing, building wood duck houses, turkey, duck and goose calling, identifying wildlife tracks, shooting pellet guns and much more.

Shuttle available to go from fairgrounds to dedication site where there will be engineering demonstrations, hunting dog demonstrations, biological learning activities and atv rides onto the wetlands to learn more about the creation of the Spotted Tail Wetlands project.

Pony rides on site at the fairgrounds, trail rides from the fairgrounds to the river and back.

Cherrie Beam-Clarke, acclaimed storyteller sponsored by the Nebraska Humanities Council, will be in-costume and bringing the 1850 Nebraska prairie to life as she captivates everyone with her spellbinding rendition of sailing the ocean from Ireland to the wide prairies of Nebraska. Laugh and cry with her over the excitement and hardships of becoming an American as she presents “Promise in a New Land." A “don’t miss” presentation.
10am-2pm
Lunch served by Russ & Shirley Smith in the fairgrounds building. Lunch tickets may be purchased at registration or you may pay at the luncheon counter.
12:30 pm
Cherrie Beam-Clarke returns with her interactive presentation “Nature Naturally”. Learn about unique animals and birds. Discover eagles, snakes, possum, spiders, coyotes, and much more. Lots to touch, lots of laughter, lots to see. Respect and preservation of Nebraska nature is emphasized. Humorous stories for all ages.

Shuttle is available at fairgrounds to take people to the Spotted Tail Wetlands Dedication site, ½ mile west on Road E. There is limited parking available at the dedication site, please use the shuttle, if possible.
2:00 pm
Dedication Ceremony begins. Hod Kosman, Platte River Basin Environments, Inc., will recognize Clive Ostenberg, Chet Fliesbach and Fliesbach family members. Ken Babcock, Ducks Unlimited Director of Conservation, Vision & Priorities will speak recognizing the Spotted Tail Wetlands Project as the official Nebraska Ducks Unlimited 75th Anniversary Project. Additional dignitaries will address the value of partnerships in conservation.
Refreshments following the ceremony.
The day of wetland education, fun activities, and honoring legendary conservationists is complete.
