Welcome to Cecil County Ducks Unlimited
What's our Role? A significant part of our role within DU is to raise the grass roots money that is needed to provide for On the Ground Conservation. Typically the money we raise thru the fund raising event system is leveraged manyfold by using matching grants and Federal dollars.
The Cecil County Chapter puts together 1 FUNdraisers a year, – Holiday Banquet. We are currently looking for potential an additional event in the coming year. You will often find Cecil committee members who work hard together for conservation and also play hard together too. We are avid sportsmen (and women), and we enjoy Hunting, Shooting Clays, Fishing, Golfing.
We are active participants in the Maryland Wood Duck Initiative (www.mwdi.net) , and the chapter maintains and enhances local habitat at Urieville Lake area in Kent County with 6 box locations and Mill Creek area in Cecil County with another 6 box location, our involvement and partnership with the Maryland Wood Duck Initiative allows our committee members to see firsthand the benefit of giving back to the environment. We also, participate in local events throughout the county promoting Maryland Ducks Unlimited.
We meet at least on the first Wednesday of the month (and sometimes more often) at The Howard House in Elkton, MD. To get involved (all are welcomed) contact John Notarangelo at mobile: 610-842-9398 or firstname.lastname@example.org
