St. Mary's County Chapter has its Annual Green Wing Outdoor Day the last Saturday of June at Sanner Lake Sportsman Club in Lexington Park, Maryland. Click here for directions.
The Green Wing Outdoor Day is our youth event. We will usually have between 50-100 children under 16 years of age. The Greenwing Day is designed to promote outdoor sportsman activities. Stations include:
- Birdhouse Building
- Retriever Training Demonstration
- Pond Fishing
- Decoy Carving
- Face Painting
- Shotgun Target Shooting
- Archery Target Shooting
- Hay Ride
- Police K-9 Demonstration
The day starts with an 8:00 a.m. registration, continues with a 9:00 a.m. police demonstration, and followed by station rotation. Groups of 15-20 children will rotate between stations every 30 minutes with all children having the opportunity to participate in that station.
The Green Wing Day concludes with a hot lunch, prizes for all the children, and a quick live auction for the adults.
It is required by Ducks Unlimited that children are accompanied by an adult the complete day of the event.
