LITTLE ROCK, AR, February 7, 2009 - Arkansas Ducks Unlimited unveiled its newest state license plate design at the annual state convention held at the Doubletree Hotel.
The wood duck drake design, featuring art from internationally renowned wildlife artist Scot Storm, is the third in a series of specialty license plates Arkansas Ducks Unlimited began offering to members and supporters in 1999.
In 2003, we were allowed to introduce the second design – the mallard drake landing in a rice field and as of last week, the third design As with the previous Ducks Unlimited tags, the new design is now in stock at Department of Finance (DFA) offices throughout Arkansas, the Charles Ragland Center in Little Rock and available for purchase online through the DFA web site..
“The license plate program has generated hundreds of thousands of dollars for the ducks in Arkansas” said State Chairman Vince Callahan, “and a portion of the proceeds from the program has always stayed in the state as matching funds to be used on conservation programs with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission.”
Callahan presented Roger Duren, Administrator, Office of Motor Vehicle, a certificate of appreciation and copy of “Resting Place – Wood Ducks” print by Scot Storm, for his help with the DU license plate program. Callahan acknowledged that Duren, and his staff, have been instrumental in the program’s success.
