Purpose: To acquire and protect 215 acres of alluvial riverine habitat on the Ohio River. Perpetual protection of this property, through its acquisition, will help meet KDFWR's long-range goal of providing valuable migration habitat for waterfowl on key concentration areas. The area is subject to frequent flooding by the Ohio River, thus providing critical habitat for migrating and wintering waterfowl. This project is managed by the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources to provide quality wintering habitat for waterfowl and additional public hunting opportunities.
Location: The project is located in Ballard County approximately 7 miles northwest of Barlow, KY.
