Overview
The Internet Services group is seeking a full-time, experienced ASP.NET web developer to join its team. The successful candidate will develop and maintain dynamic web applications in support of our national web site (www.ducks.org) and other internal web applications, be an energetic self-starter, be detail oriented, have the ability to coordinate multiple projects at once, and have good communication skills. This position will contribute to the team by utilizing Microsoft tools and technologies to strengthen the DU Web presence while leveraging industry standard software development best practices.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Develop multi-tiered, web based applications using C#, Javascript, AJAX, SQL Server, and third-party server controls.
- Develop applications to promote online fundraising efforts
- Maintain existing web applications with modifications per user requirements
- Research and implement emerging web technologies
- Participate in code reviews & knowledge sharing with team members
- Problem resolution/troubleshoot support calls
- Assist with site content updates as needed
Required Skill set:
- ASP.NET 2.0+ framework
- Proficiency in C# 2.0+
- MS Visual Studio 2008
- SQL Server 2000, 2005, & 2008, SQL, SPROCs, DTS packages
- Understanding of web services in MS Visual Studio (SOAP, WSDL)
- HTML, XHTML, CSS, AJAX, JavaScript, XML, IIS 6.0+
- Search engine optimization (SEO) programming standards and best practices
- Experience with web-based Content Management Systems (CMS)
Other Beneficial Skills:
- Basic understanding of RIA (Rich Internet Applications), RSS, blogs, wikis, mashups, widgets, social networking, geotagging, usability testing, etc.
- Experience with Google Analytics, AdWords, AdManager & Website Optimizer
- Experience in Adobe Photoshop or Macromedia Fireworks, Microsoft Expression Suite, Subversion, IIS 7.x
- Actionscript 2.0+, WPF, XAML, FBML
- API: Bing, Google, YouTube, EmailLabs, Facebook, Twitter, Flickr
- Experience with Telerik server controls
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree, with MIS, CIS or other related major
- Minimum of three years developing dynamic, .Net web applications in a production setting
