Ducks Unlimited, Inc., the continent’s leader in waterfowl and wetlands conservation, seeks a Director of Development for the South Atlantic region.

The ideal candidate will have fundraising experience with an emphasis on personal solicitation and a strong conservation ethic. Additional qualifications include a college degree, extensive interpersonal, relationship and team building skills, oral and written communication skills, ability to provide leadership and guidance to other development professionals and volunteers, computer literacy with a proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet and database programs, and a desire and ability to travel extensively within the region. Familiarity or experience with planned giving, a working knowledge of the region’s philanthropic community, and an interest in outdoor conservation activities are also desired.

*South Atlantic (based in Charleston, SC or Florida)

• Provide strategic direction and leadership for the development efforts in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida


• Responsible for identifying, cultivating and soliciting major gifts from individuals, corporations and foundations who have given or demonstrate the ability to give up to $100,000 to support the conservation mission of Ducks Unlimited


• Work in close partnership with a Director of Development colleague in the same region along with volunteers and conservation staff on initiatives and proposals for assigned prospects.
