Regional Biologist - IWJV Assistant Coordinator |

This position serves as Assistant Coordinator (AC) for the Intermountain West Joint Venture (IWJV) and functions as the IWJV’s lead habitat conservation delivery specialist, including building and strengthening partnerships for conservation.
Major duties include:
- IWJV Science and Implementation Coordination
- North American Wetlands Conservation Act (NAWCA ) Coordination
- IWJV Capacity Grants Program leadership
- State Wildlife Action Plan Implementation
- State Steering Committee Coordination
- Assist the IWJV Coordinator
Education and Experience
Candidate must have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in wildlife biology, wildlife management, or a related field of study. A Master’s degree is preferred. More than five years field experience.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of biological principles and practices in natural resource conservation.
- Proven skill in developing and maintaining conservation partnerships.
- Experience developing, writing, and delivering NAWCA grants combined with detailed knowledge of NAWCA’s scoring process, history, function, and relevance in integrated bird conservation.
- Knowledge of state, federal, and private conservation programs and organizations.
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in delivering private lands habitat programs and conservation easement programs.
- Demonstrated skill in grant proposal writing and grant administration with proficiency in project management, contracting, budget tracking, and accountability.
- Experience in working with state fish and wildlife agencies, and nongovernmental organizations on habitat conservation programs and projects.
Travel Required:
This position requires substantial travel throughout the Intermountain West within budget constraints.
