Zirbel Slough is a 330-acre wetland complex approximately 4 miles south of Clear Lake in Cerro Gordo County. This wetland area is an excellent example of the prairie marshes that once dotted the country. Zirbel Slough provides habitat for a tremendous variety of waterfowl, wading birds and other wildlife.
All new Legacy Greenwings enrolled after July 1, 2008, will be recognized with their name on a bronze plaque and cairn at Zirbel Slough. Be sure to enroll your Greenwing today and have them be one of only 150 children recognized on this project!
