Ducks Unlimited urgently needs your help! The Illinois Legislature recently passed legislation creating an Illinois Ducks Unlimited specialty license plate. Funds derived from the sales of these plates will be used to fund conservation projects in Illinois. The Illinois Secretary of State requires at least 1,500 applications be submitted before the approval process of the plate design can begin.
The Illinois Secretary of State has received approximately 300 applications to date and we are now undertaking a drive to secure the 1,200 remaining applications. Thanks to a generous donation by a dedicated Ducks Unlimited supporter, the fees for the remaining 1,200 applications are being underwritten. Filling out an application is free!
As an added bonus, all applications up to the first 1,200 received by February 10, 2012 will be entered into a drawing for a Benelli Vinci camo shotgun. Our goal is to have the remaining 1,200 applications secured by this cutoff date so that the winner of the shotgun can be drawn at the Illinois State Convention on February 18, 2012. Please note that a completed application does not require the applicant to purchase the ILDU plate in the future, but merely helps ensure that the plate will be issued.
