Our best experiences and our best days are defined by our performance and whether we are able to perform to the best of our abilities. GORE-TEX®
products are designed and developed to be solutions that empower your best performance. By keeping you warm, dry and comfortably protected, you are able to stay afield longer and remain focused.
The worst conditions—bitter cold, heavy rain, extreme fluctuations in conditions—offer the finest opportunities for excellence. This is why top performers so often rely on GORE-TEX® products to maximize their performance and enable their success.
Gore invented the first truly waterproof and breathable fabric in 1978. Since then, we have continued to set the standard for the most durably liquid-proof, breathable garments, footwear, and accessories available.
The microporous structure of the GORE-TEX® membrane is what makes GORE-TEX® fabrics lastingly waterproof. Each microscopic pore is about 20,000 times smaller than a drop of water, which means that external moisture—from rain to snow to that puddle you just stepped in—can't penetrate the membrane.
Of course, the comfort balance requires two factors: waterproofness and breathability. The pores in the GORE-TEX® membrane are 700 times bigger than a water vapor molecule, so perspiration can easily evaporate through and you can stay dry from the inside out.
Gore complements its expertise in membrane technology with in-depth knowledge of fabric performance and polymer technology. Ongoing field and laboratory tests—combined with the development of advanced adhesives, coatings, fabric finishes and seam-sealing materials—ensure durable, high-performance garments and footwear.
GORE™ OPTIFADE™ Concealment
GORE™ OPTIFADE™ Concealment is the first scientifically developed concealment technology based on how prey animals see the world. GORE™ OPTIFADE™ Concealment Waterfowl pattern takes into account how ducks, geese and other waterfowl see.
Drawing on scientific understanding of waterfowl's large field of vision, exceptional visual acuity, low contrast sensitivity and relatively poor depth perception, the design of this pattern maximizes visual confusion for the bird through a heavily detailed micro pattern. Since water perception of colors extends beyond the human color perception range, the colors in particular have been manipulated to create a great deal of depth.
Most patterns are designed from a flawed perspective as though the bird is on the ground looking at the hunter. GORE™ OPTIFADE™ Concealment takes into account that the birds are usually above the hunter in flight, and are in constant motion.
