Waterfowl Season Regulations

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is responsible for setting the waterfowl season framework each year. This framework includes regulations such as the earliest and latest season dates, maximum number of hunting days, and bag limits. The Federal framework for hunting regulations is shared by all states in each flyway. States can be more restrictive, but can be no more liberal than the federal framework. Ducks Unlimited is not involved in the regulation setting process nor in state-specific processes to recommend regulations.
