Hunting:

Hunters who can find spots with wood ducks and green-winged teal will continue having the best success for now. There are opportunities for mallards but they are much less consisent than woodies or greenwings. The wood ducks and greenwings will probalby only be here for another two weeks, so get after them while you can! There are plenty of geese to be had in fields and resting spots. Hunters in Northern Indiana may want to get out after geese this weekend since the season on Canadas will close for a few weeks starting on Sun!

Species/Numbers:

There are still plenty of wood ducks in the area, as expected. There was a good push of new green-winged teal over the weekend and they are still hanging around currently. There seemed to be more mallards than normal the first week or two of season but because of hunting pressure and the fact that we haven't gotten any new pushes of mallards recently, there aren't a lot of mallards in the area. There are plenty of geese in the area, probably even more than normal for early November.

Weather:

It has been relatively warm the last week or so compared the prior weeks. There is a little cool off coming up at the end of this week and into the weekend but it warms back up quickly by mid week next week.
